The weather in Barcelona is typical of the Mediterranean climate: warm Summers and mild Winters. Throughout the year, the temperatures are pleasant and there are rarely extreme weather conditions.
The Winter in Barcelona can sometimes be quite cold, averaging around 10 degrees celsius (50 degrees fahrenheit). Since the Winters are mild, walking around the city is not a problem, however, Winter attire such as scarves and gloves are probably required.
During the Summer, the weather in Barcelona makes every day a perfect day to spend on the beach, walking around the city, visiting a park, or enjoying a drink in one of the many plazas. The temperature averages around 27 degrees celsius (80 degrees fahrenheit), however, due to the city´s location on the Mediterranean coast, there is a comfortable sea breeze. The warm Summer months offer countless things to do in the city.
The Autumn and Spring time is considered the best time to travel to Barcelona. These seasons offer pleasant temperatures, and despite Barcelona being a generally sunny place there is sometimes a bit of rain during these months. During Autumn, temperatures average around 18 degrees celsius (64 degrees fahrenheit), the ideal temperature to enjoy outdoor activities. The weather in Spring is similar to the Autumn weather, with similar temperatures, but occasional days of fog and rain.
One of the reasons that Barcelona is such a popular tourist destination is certainly due to its all-year-round pleasant weather.
